Eligibility:

1. To apply for sponsorship, you must be a signed language interpreter.
2. The ASLIA National Creating Opportunities Fund will only provide financial support to interpreters from countries with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) less than AUD$15,000 (fifteen thousand Australian dollars) per capita.
3. The ASLIA National Executive Committee will consider sponsorship applications made by individuals/organisations/groups at any time. Applications must be made in writing by filling in the application form below.
4. A limit of one application per person, or organisation, will be granted per year. If the application is to attend the ANC/ITW, it must be made 3 months prior to the ANC. Applications for 2012 are not yet open.
5. ASLIA National is a member of the World Association of Sign Language Interpreters (WASLI), in the Australasia/Oceania region. Therefore our priority is to support interpreters from developing countries in the Australasia/Oceania region. However, ASLIA National may support interpreters from developing countries in other regions, if funds allow.
6. Preference for sponsorship will be given to people who have not received sponsorship in the past.
