ITW
6th ASLIA National Interpreter Trainers’ Workshop
Mon 30th & Tues 31st August 2010, Brisbane, Queensland.
The Interpreter Trainers’ Workshop (ITW) offers interpreter educators, trainers and mentors an annual opportunity to come together to share information, expertise and resources. The ITW will take place immediately after the ASLIA National Conference (ANC).
Delegates in attendance at the ITW are typically signed language interpreter educators, trainers, mentors and practitioner-researchers from across Australia, and overseas. The ITW is the only regular opportunity available in the southern hemisphere for these delegates to come together and share teaching resources and strategies, discuss developments in the field, and network with national and international peers involved in interpreter education, training and mentoring.
The ITW is not open to general practitioners of interpreting, however if you are involved in interpreter education, training and/or mentoring, we hope that you will grasp this exciting opportunity to collaborate and converse with national and international colleagues in the field.
Please note, in order to attend you do not have to be involved in teaching interpreters in a formal interpreter education program at TAFE or university, but instead you might be involved in delivering training to interpreters in some way – occasional professional development sessions for example. Or, you might be involved in mentoring fellow interpreters – either on a formal or informal basis.
Individuals associated with interpreter education, training, and/or mentoring in any form, will find the presentations, workshops, discussions and networking at the ITW most valuable.
The ITW 2010 Program is now available.
